Trade Card Tuesday

Each month, I attend a unit meeting where we have the opportunity to trade samples of our work. The theme for the January trade was "NEW Product... using products from the Sell-a-bration! or the new Occasions Mini catalogs." I love the new Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasions Mini. And since I don't often work with shades of orange (except for Halloween), I thought I should challenge myself to play with Pumpkin Pie card stock.

Here is a sample of my trade:

The January meeting included a stampin' project. (I love these!!!) Here is the box that I made:

In my next post, I will show you how this box became the inspiration for my trade for a card swap that I joined through Stampin' Connection (a wonderful site for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators where we can connect with other people who share the same passion for creating).

Until then, what will you create next?

MSD Layout #2

Playing with some more of the features of Stampin' Up! "My Digital Studio" (MSD), I was able to complete my 2nd digital layout in just a short time. With this page, I incorporated several digital embellishments, which I will comment on in more detail if I get more time with my next post. This layout will actually be a hybrid* page, as I plan to add a tiny clear envelope with Allison's clippings and a bow made with matching Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

* In scrapbooking, a hybrid page is known as a digital page that is printed and then completed with traditional scrapbooking embellishments.

"My Digital Studio" (MSD) 1st Layout!!!

Well, I never thought I would say this, but "I completed my first digital layout today!" And I do have to admit, I had SO much fun playing around with the "My Digital Studio" program by Stampin' Up! I am so excited to have a completed layout (with journaling) that is ready to print. I did not use a template; I challenged myself to working this page all on my own. And what fun to have this memory already documented! :)

Ladybug Card Set

The cards

And the packaged set (This view is of the outside of the package. I mounted a "pocket" for the cards and envelopes on both the outside and inside of the package.)

The Actual Trade...

Idea #3... the final result!

The leaf image gives off the look of the bleach technique on the Chocolate Chip paper, but that is a result of the embossed image on this card. The background paper is Sage Shadow that is "inked" with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.

Still working towards a trade...

Idea #2:
